The shooting was done from with a monopod. Stitched from four images taken with a Walimex (Samyang) 7.5mm fish eye lens on a Sony ILCE-QX1. Four images around and an additional image for the nadir. The zenith was retouched by hand in post-processing.
Standing on Mount John offers a mgnificent view from Lake Tekapo in the east to the Southern Alps in the very west.
Near Point Lonsdale Lighthouse you have access to the beach via a short trail. You can find some iteresting rocks on the beach.
